October 2015 Millennium Trek Photo tour
This unique adventure will take photographers to a remote and little visited area south of the greater Annapurna Range in Western Nepal. The scenery and people are wonderful with the backdrop of the snowy Himalayas, you will get an unusual experience with the emphasis of seeing real rural life in the incredibly beautiful terraced villages with some of the most hospitable people on this planet.
Highlights include:
The tour ends with the first Photo Festival in Kathmandu from 3rd to 9th November . The programme is not finalized yet. The are options to stay on for this. I certainly will be doing so.
It is not a luxury tour, the accommodation will be in villages that see few outsiders so accommodation will be in very basic village homestays or tents. We will use comfortable hotels with en-suite twin and double rooms in cities
Due to the earthquakes in April and May 2015 some major sights have been damaged and are under restoration/repair. When I visited the area 5 weeks after the quakes; I was surprised how much of the city has become back to normal. So don’t worry, the City of Kathmandu is not in ruins. Most of it is fine to visit. Bhaktapur was hit badly in places; but the area of Durbar Square only had 3 temples destroyed and many of the buildings only suffered light damage,
