Batambang

Yet another visit to the Colonial city of Battambang; being only a 3 hour drive, its a good place for a weekend away or a detour on the way south to Phnom Penh or the Coast. The Famous Bamboo railway is still operating; though as a tourist attraction rather than the mode of transport between villages before the roads were improved.
The highlight of any visit here is the hill temples of Phnom Sampeu. The best reason to go to Battambang is to meet up with my good friend Thean who is the best driver guide in the area.
A Thai festival in evening was an unexpected attraction with stalls lining the riverside. a firework display and live bands.

I've been living in Cambodia since 2003 and have images of this wonderful country. its a photographic paradise with spectacular sites and lovely people.
The Angkor Temples are amazing; but its the people & rural life which have been an endless fascination for me as a photographer
